In recent years I have been privileged to travel with both Dieter Schacht and Klaus Patzner to some remote parts of Austria and Slovenia, including Hoch Obir and the foothills of Triglav. Wonderful opportunities have arisen to study and photograph endemic species in thier native habitat enabling me to re-assess my views on their subsequent cultivation at lower levels.
